"The oldest trick in the book — literally"

The Ponziani (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.c3) is one of the oldest recorded openings in chess — and one of the most underrated club weapons today. The idea is pure: prepare d4 and build the full pawn center that every 1.e4 e5 player dreams about. Because 3.c3 looks slow, Black players either grab at it too greedily (3...d5, 3...f5) and get punished by 4.Qa4!, or let White have exactly the center the move was played for. This course gives you a complete repertoire: the modern main line against 3...Nf6, the queen-check machinery against 3...d5, and clean recipes against every sideline.
